How do I clear my internet browsing history and temp. files?

Solution:

Clearing your cache can significantly improve the speed and performance of your browser. The following procedures provide steps to clear the cache memory for a variety of browsers.

Clearing Cache on Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.0

  1. In the Internet Explorer menu bar click Tools and select Delete Browsing History
  2. Click the Delete Files button.
  3. In the box that pops up asking you if your sure you want to do this choose Yes.
  4. When the flashing box has gone away click on the Delete Cookies button.
  5. In the box that pops up asking you if your sure you want to do this choose Yes.
  6. Click the Close button on the bottom of the Delete Browsing History window.
  7. Relaunch Internet Explorer.

Clearing Cache on Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.0 in Vista

  1. Click Tools and select Delete Browsing History.
  2. Click the Delete Files button.
  3. In the box that pops up asking you if your sure you want to do this choose Yes.
  4. When the flashing box has gone away click on the Delete Cookies button.
  5. In the box that pops up asking you if your sure you want to do this choose Yes.
  6. Click the Close button on the bottom of the Delete Browsing History window.
  7. Relaunch Internet Explorer.

Clearing Cache on Microsoft Internet Explorer Version 8 & 9

In the Internet Explorer menu bar click Tools and select Delete Browsing History.

or if you do not have the Internet Explorer Menu at the upper left

  1. Click on the Tools Icon at the right and select Delete Browsing History.
  2. Put a checkmark in everything but the following:

    • Preserve Favorite Website data
    • Passwords
  3. Click the Delete button at the bottom of the window.
  4. Click the Close button on the bottom of the Delete Browsing History window.
  5. Relaunch Internet Explorer.


Clearing Cache in Firefox Browser

  1. Click Tools and select Clear Recent History.
  2. In the Time Range dropdown choose Everything.
  3. Put a Checkmark in all of the checkboxes.
  4. Click the Clear Now button.
  5. Close and relaunch Firefox.
